A New Era in Fraud Prevention: Experian Acquires NeuroID

It’s been an exciting day at NeuroID, as we announced our acquisition by Experian

Experian’s identity verification and fraud prevention solutions helped clients avoid an estimated $15 billion in fraud losses globally last year. We’ve been working with Experian since 2023, providing robust, frictionless behavioral analytics to combat identity theft, deter fraud ring attacks, and protect against gen AI-enabled bots. Now, with NeuroID officially part of the Experian identity verification and fraud detection suite, we’ll be integrated into CrossCore® on the Experian Ascend Technology Platform™, helping clients proactively monitor behavior and detect next-generation fraud with less user friction.

Why NeuroID and Experian?

Managing identity verification, fraud detection, and ongoing authentication is a challenge for many digital businesses. According to Experian’s Fraud and Identity Report, nearly 50% of businesses say they’re more of a fraud target now, and 70% of businesses say fraud losses have increased in the past few years. 

These stats are no doubt fueled by the massive growth in advanced fraud rings and genAI-enabled bot attacks, which are often hard to detect without in-depth insights. NeuroID’s Emerging Trends in Fraud report (published just last week) found that for almost 50% of NeuroID customers attacked by bots, more than 95% of attacking bots were next-generation—a new iteration of genAI-enabled bots that are extremely evasive to fraud detection. Now with NeuroID part of Experian, Experian clients can get the combined power of robust data-driven insights, from cutting-edge industry leaders.

What This Means for the Future of Fraud

Experian’s CrossCore® on the Experian Ascend Technology Platform™, already helps clients verify identities and prevent various fraud losses by orchestrating a layered defense approach using technology, analytics and data for instant decision-making strategies. Within Experian’s fraud risk suite, NeuroID analytics will now provide new insights into user behavior during account openings, logins, and transactions. This means better fraud detection, within a seamless customer experience, from day one.
